A fishing bite forecast that shows its work
Second Cast scores how well the fish will bite today, from 0 to 100, then names your best three-hour window. Every factor behind the number is printed right beside it.
What is a bite forecast?
A bite forecast is a single 0–100 score that predicts how actively fish will feed at a given place and time. Second Cast builds it by blending barometric pressure, moon phase, wind, water temperature, and season, then weighting each for the target water, and it names the best three-hour window to fish.
What goes into the score
- Barometric pressureFalling pressure turns fish on.
- Moon phase & solunarMajor and minor feeding periods.
- Wind & weatherDirection, speed, and sky.
- Season & water tempWhat your species wants right now.
How it works
- 1It reads live conditions for your water from national weather and solunar data.
- 2It weights each factor for your target species and scores the day 0 to 100.
- 3It names your best three-hour window, and shows every factor's weight.
Common questions
How accurate is the bite forecast?
It reflects the conditions that drive feeding, not a guarantee. Logging catches makes it sharper over time, because it learns which conditions produce fish for you.
What data does it use?
Barometric pressure, wind and weather, moon phase and solunar periods, season, and water temperature, pulled from national weather services with no extra hardware.
Is Second Cast free?
Yes. The bite forecast is free to use, with no card required to start.
Which waters and species does it cover?
Freshwater and coastal species across the Southeast US at launch, with more regions as the beta grows.
